§ 82-74. Cutting by village; collection of costs.

  • Pursuant to the authority of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/11-20-6 and 65 ILCS 5/11-20-7) when the owner of any land located within a nonagricultural area of the village refuses or neglects to cut weeds upon such premises, the village may provide for the cutting of such weeds on such land at the sole expense of the owner. In such event, the village shall collect from the owner of such land the reasonable cost of cutting of the weeds plus an administrative fee in the amount of 25 percent of the cost of the cutting or a minimum of $25.00, whichever is greater.
